DESCRIPTION: Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Wooden works weight driven, foliot escapement timepiece, sold as a souvenir at the Columbian Exposition, Chicago, which began in 1892. The clock front is embossed with a dial, a bust of Columbus and his name at top, and the year 1492 at bottom. This clock comes complete with its original wooden shipping box, with label, C.1892, (2) a German 30 hours, pendulette souvenir clock from the 1988 Winter Olympics,.
CONDITION: the box has a chunk out of one end and one side from dropping in transit; the label identifying it as a "Columbus Clock" is worn but the name of the clock is quite clear. It is complete with original cord and black iron weight. Ht of clock = 14", length of pine box = 15" Diameter of souvenir clock = 4 1/2"
